Early developments: HOMEWARD

Physical/visual theatre piece by Fanis Sakellariou, with whom I collaborated on the character design and scenography.

A dystopian piece that explores primal rituals and the idea of Posthumanism and imagines hyperbolized consequences of humanity’s neglect and recklessness towards the planet, depicting the aftermath in a gory but thought-provoking way.

The audience follows the journey of the Final Beast – a symbol of primordial evil – towards remembering his annihilation of Humanity, raising it as the new species in a dystopian subconscious world which is based on biblical symbols and characters.

“And
black sand
instead of
all”

“Homeward: Great miracle cast by advanced clerics. Return to the last bonfire rested at. Would normally link to one’s homeland, only the curse of the Undead has distorted its power, redirecting casters to a bonfire.
Or perhaps for the Undead, this serves as home?”

Costume and set created using recycled/second-hand materials.
